Working Equitation Clinic @ Thornton House
Mar 23 all-day
Working Equitation Clinic @ Thornton House
EVRC will be holding the next Working Equitation Clinic on the 23rd March.
Working Equitation (W.E) is a relatively new discipline in the UK. It’s best described as handy pony with a dressage twist, and it’s really good fun! The idea is to train your horse to accept new obstacles and challenges. It improves the ridden partnership as your horse learns to trust and listen. Ebor Vale holds W.E. clinics with one of the top trainers in the UK; Clair Hair. She is very supportive and gives proper explanations and magically something that seemed impossible at the beginning of the session is achieved. You can see the horses thinking and processing as they progress through the obstacles. The style of riding tends towards classical dressage, but initially safety and understanding are emphasised. As this takes time the sessions are 90 minutes long. You and your horse do not need to be super fit as everything is tailored to suit the individual. Any tack, & any riding kit so long as an up-to-standard hat and proper riding boots are worn. It is suitable for people and horses who have not tried W.E. before as lots of support is given.
Our next clinic is at Thornton House Farm in the indoor arena on Sunday 23rd March
