If you are interested in representing Ebor Vale here’s what’s involved:

  • The BRC handbook is a really useful source of information! Follow the link [ BRC Handbook]
  • You must be a paid up member of EVRC
  • Please head over to the Membership tab for more info on how to join EVRC.
  • You can only compete in official competitions for one riding club at a time. The Area competition year is split into winter and summer seasons and you may change club in between seasons.  Contact Zoe Nundy, EVRC Team Manager, if you want to find out more about changing which club you compete for and when is the right time to change! Zoe Nundy: evrcteams@gmail.com
  • BRC handbook: page 20 section G5.1 Representation of Clubs
  • You must be familiar with the BRC rules in the handbook for the relevant competition, including eligibility of rider horse / pony.
  • The horse / pony MUST have an up to date flu vaccination record        [BRC Vaccine Checker]
  • You must have attended a relevant EVRC training session(s) and / or be able to provide a reference from one of the usual EVRC trainers and / or provide recent relevant competition results.  EVRC has a duty of care to ensure riders and horses are sufficiently prepared for Area competitions.  If you want to know more about EVRC training sessions please contact Rachael Smith Tel: 07979 884101 and keep an eye on the EVRC Facebook page.
  • Riders competing at Area qualifiers must be available to compete at the relevant Championships should they qualify (even if you are not a member of the qualifying team you may be required as a reserve). This requirement comes direct from BRC.
  • BRC handbook: page 26 section G10 Withdrawals
  • Riders should be smartly dressed and horses/ponies smartly turned out. Please refer to the BRC handbook and BRC downloads page [link to downloads page] for rules on dress code, protective headwear & hat tagging, whips, body protectors, permitted saddlery, number template etc
  • EVRC members who represent the club at Area qualifiers must be able to help, or provide a helper, for club and / or Area competitions. For Area competitions the clubs in the Area are told by the Area committee how many helpers they need to provide.  If EVRC does not provide helpers EVRC is not allowed to compete.  As Championship entry fees are subsidised by the club please remember helpers are also always needed at EVRC events.  The EVRC volunteer co-ordinator for club and Area competitions is Fiona Wainwright- fjwainwright@gmail.com Please contact Fiona direct and also keep an eye on the EVRC facebook page for information on when and where help is required.

And if after all that you’re still keen on representing EVRC – that’s GREAT!

All you need to do now is contact Zoe to let her know you’re interested in being considered.

You can do that by filling in the ‘EVRC Area Competition Entry Form’ [Area competition Entry Form] and emailing it to Zoe evrcteams@gmail.com

Plus keep an eye out on the EVRC facebook page for information on the Area competitions and also check out the Championship and Area qualifier information on the BRC website

Good luck!
